Census data determines funding for many of the programs that will get us to our SDC 2.0 goals. DC received $1.3 billion in 2018 based on 2010 Census data to fund education, affordable housing, public housing, school lunch and breakfasts, public transportation, and food assistance programs, including SNAP, TANF, and WIC. You can help make sure everyone in DC gets counted, by volunteering to spread the word in your community or by working with the Census Bureau in 2020. Read more here.

The Housing Equity Report provides goals for the equitable distribution of affordable housing in DC, supporting Mayor Muriel Bowser’s vision for creating 36,000 new housing units by 2025. The report is the first in a series that will comprise the Housing Framework for Equity and Growth.
